"...community isn’t where you live; it’s how you show up for the people standing right in front of you." Love this! So spot on. Definitely a needed challenge right now.
This is the part that stood out to me too! I’m actually from Arlington and live here currently but my closest friends live across the country and even in other countries! It’s taken a lot of work to build locally but I’m committed because being able to just pull up on people or ask someone to watch the kids while you head down the street to run an errand means something.
This email was my break between tasks. Very thoughtful insight about community as it relates to the scales of wealth (or lack thereof). It's an angle I've never fully considered, although I have heard the concept mentioned - most often in music. However, the best part was probably that single raw chicken wing lol. That is so ATL. Wonderful read - thank you so much! I am inspired to continue checking on my elderly neighbors a mile down the way.

You and I both!! I’ve been needing fire under my but to start some community in Dallas!! Even if it’s temporary.

I went to college at South Alabama. Which still hold some of my favorite memories. Thanks for this walk down memory lane.
